Lawyers for Aaron Hernandez on Thursday slammed prosecutors for filing what the defense attorneys contend is a frivolous motion to have the judge currently assigned to the murder case step aside.

Assistant District Attorney William McCauley opened yesterday’s pre-trial hearing in the Aaron Hernandez case by doing something most lawyers are loathe to do: He requested that the judge assigned to the former football star’s murder indictment recuse herself.


Mashpee Firefighter Rape Charges Dropped

FALMOUTH, Mass. (AP) — Charges of rape and indecent assault against a Mashpee firefighter have been dropped.
The Cape Cod Times reports that the district attorney’s office moved Tuesday to dismiss the charges against Stephen Bold, who had been accused of assaulting a teenage girl on multiple occasions.
Bond has maintained his innocence. A motion by his lawyer to dismiss the case was scheduled to be heard on Wednesday.


Rape and indecent assault charges still stand against a veteran Mashpee firefighter.
